Beyond the Classroom
Albert Einstein Academy fills the school year with the joy of holiday celebrations, visiting artist days, field trips, and important “life cycle” events. These opportunities enhance our curriculum with rich, hands-on, experiential learning. Our program teaches concepts and skills, but more importantly, it inspires our students to be active and engaged learners, feeds their natural curiosity, and provides them the tools to be independent and self-confident learners.
Overnight Class Trips
Each year, Albert Einstein Academy 4th, 5th, and 6th graders participate in an overnight field trip. The destination of the trip rotates, enabling the students to visit three different places over the course of the three years. Past trips have included Washingon, D.C., New York City, and Teva Learning Center.
The Teva Learning Center provides students with an engaging 3-day experience with nature. Students study ecology and environmental education with Jewish concepts and values through hands-on activities in a cooperative, non-competitive outdoor setting.
Community Service
We encourage our students to practice service learning and Tikkun Olam (repair of the world) within the school and the larger community. Each grade adopts a specific yearlong service project. This provides an opportunity for our students to learn more deeply about serious issues facing society. Tikkun Olam projects include raising awareness about the environment through recycling efforts, collecting toys for children less fortunate than themselves, developing relationships with elders at the Kutz Jewish Home for the Aged, creating a feeding station for birds, and raising money for community foundations.
